I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of several Holiday Markets in December!
The first was at 255 Milledge, a beautiful c. 1910 home, turned event venue for weddings and all sorts of celebrations! My husband and I always love passing this home on our Saturday morning runs, and will occasionally see the owners enjoying coffee on the front porch, or setting up for a wedding later in the day. The twinkle lights hung from the side porch always seems so inviting!
Every December 255 Milledge hosts an open house in conjunction with a tour of homes in the area. A select group of local makers and creatives are invited to participate every year and I was thrilled to be included. I have always loved visiting this home with its large windows and sweeping staircase, and could not be happier with my spot for the day in the light bathed sunroom!
What a lovely day to be surrounded by so many amazing artisans and their beautiful work! Sorority girls and little children alike flocked to Santa visiting on the porch. The cheese bites and truffles were gratefully snagged by all who discovered them in the foyer on their way out the door to the beautiful gardens in the back of the lot.
The second open house was at Pounds Coffee in Watkinsville.
Chris, the owner of Pounds, has been a friend of ours for a number of years, and is also our neighbor! From the first time we tried Pounds Coffee we were hooked. My husband and I love the smoothness of his roast, and are always sad if we run out before next monthly subscription arrives in the mail.
Chris had a great vision for a holiday open house. With the wonderful smells of coffee brewing, guests were invited to browse the selection of jewelry available by Pamela Kay as well as small paintings and handmade greeting cards I had created. A table set up with all the supplies for decorating ornaments invited you to linger a little longer. It was wonderful getting to see the creations both from the children and the adults!
Chris and Pamela graciously gave of their time and talents and offered for all the proceeds from the day to go to our adoption fund! We could not be more grateful for these friends, and invite you to check out their work!
