Kyiv Priest
18″x30″

I am extremely excited to announce that this recent painting was accepted into the Portrait Society of Atlanta’s Fall Exhibition!
“Kyiv Priest” is a painting that I pondered doing and has been in the works for quite some time. As some of you may know, I lived in Ukraine for a period of time in my 20’s and I have been heartbroken to watch the news unfolding there in the past several years. I feel like this painting is in some ways my journal. My thoughts and musings on government, religion, rebellion, faith, fear and hope are all there. Many Ukrainian’s wear a ring that says “Господи, спаси и сохрани мя” (“Lord, save and protect me”). That is my prayer for Ukraine.
